You are not alone.
Many of the young men we support are not failing.
They are overwhelmed, isolated, and struggling to regulate emotions in a world that gives them few safe places to do that.
They may be dealing with pornography or gaming issues, compulsive behaviors, anxiety, or emotional shutdown. Often, they are intelligent, capable, and deeply misunderstood.
Families and professionals come to OnwardWell when additional structure, consistency, and support are needed to help a young man move forward.
How We Show Up
Support
Support is consistent presence, not crisis-only contact. We help young men regulate in real timeand build stability when emotions feel overwhelming.
Accountability
Accountability creates safety. We set clear expectations, follow through, and address setbacks directly—without shame, punishment, or withdrawal.
Advocacy
We help young men navigate the systems around them—families, schools, clinicians—so they are understood as whole people, not defined by a single struggle.
Love
Love means dignity and commitment. We treat each person as more than their behavior or diagnosis and remain engaged even when progress is slow or uneven.
The Other 167 Hours
Support beyond the therapy hour.
Change doesn’t happen in an office once a week. It happens in the moments between—when emotions rise, patterns repeat, and coordination across systems matters most.
What Makes OnwardWell Different
OnwardWell exists in the space between insight and action.
Many young men understand what they need to change. The harder part is applying that understanding in real life—when emotions rise, patterns repeat, or support systems don’t align.
Our work is coaching-centered and relationship-driven. We stay engaged outside the therapy hour, helping young men practice skills in real time, recover more quickly from setbacks, and build consistency where it matters most.
We also provide case management to support coordination across systems. That means working alongside families, therapists, schools, and other providers so expectations are clear, communication is aligned, and no one is carrying the process alone.
OnwardWell does not replace therapy or clinical care. We complement it—by reinforcing progress between sessions and helping translate insight into daily life.
This is not about doing more.
It’s about staying connected where change actually happens.

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?
Many of the young men we support are bright, capable, and well-intentioned—but struggling in ways that don’t always show up clearly.
You may recognize some of this:
• Strong starts that fade when emotions spike
• Repeated promises to change, followed by frustration or shutdown
• Patterns of avoidance, secrecy, or compulsive behavior
• Difficulty applying insight outside of therapy or structured settings
• Conflict at home that feels cyclical rather than resolved
None of this means someone has failed.
Often, it simply means support needs to stay present between sessions—when real life happens.

Are OnwardWell providers counselors or therapists?
OnwardWell’s team includes a diverse group of professionals to provide a holistic recovery experience. Our team consists of therapists, recovery coaches, psychiatric nurses, and support staff, all working together to support individuals in overcoming sexual addiction and related challenges. While some of our providers are licensed therapists, our approach goes beyond traditional therapy by integrating coaching, medical insight, and structured support tailored to each person’s recovery needs.
Will my participation in the program be confidential?
Absolutely. We take your privacy very seriously. All interactions, including coaching sessions and group meetings, are conducted with the utmost confidentiality to ensure your comfort and trust.
Confidential Participation: From the moment you join the program, your identity and involvement are protected. We take great care to ensure that your participation is kept private, allowing you to engage fully without fear of exposure.
Confidential Progress: Your progress and all discussions in individual coaching sessions, group meetings, and daily check-ins are treated with the highest level of confidentiality. This ensures that you can speak openly and honestly about your experiences and challenges.
If you are a danger to yourself or someone else, we must report by law.
The only other circumstance under which your confidentiality might be broken is if we receive a court order requiring us to disclose information. In such rare cases, we will comply with the law while making every effort to protect your privacy to the fullest extent possible.
What if I experience relapse during the program?
Relapses are a common part of the recovery process. Our program includes strategies for managing relapses and setbacks, helping you understand why they happen and how to recover from them. Your therapist, coach and support network will be there to guide you through these moments.
Are these programs religiously based?
No, this is not a religious-based program. While spirituality will be discussed, it will be in a non-religious context. The focus will be on personal growth, mindfulness, and finding inner strength, which are universal concepts that can benefit everyone regardless of their religious beliefs. Our goal is to provide support and guidance that aligns with your individual values and beliefs, helping you on your path to recovery in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful to you
Can the program be customized to my specific needs?
Absolutely. Every individual is unique, and customization is a key part of the coaching process. From the very beginning, we work with you to identify your specific challenges and set meaningful goals that align with your needs. Your coach will tailor strategies and support to fit your personal journey, ensuring the program evolves as you grow and progress. This personalized approach helps create sustainable change and keeps you focused on achieving the outcomes that matter most to you.
Do you take insurance?
In general, coaching is not typically covered by insurance. However, some individual providers within the OnwardWell program, such as therapists or psychiatric nurses, may accept insurance. We understand that cost can be a barrier to recovery, and we’re happy to work with you to explore whether your insurance may cover certain aspects of your program. If you have questions about coverage, we can help you navigate your options and provide guidance on potential reimbursement.
Is the program online or in-person?
Your geographical location plays a pivotal role here.
For the sake of convenience, we primarily conduct our group meetings via online platforms. On the other hand, individual coaching sessions offer the flexibility of being either virtual or face-to-face, depending on your proximity.
I strongly advise opting for several in-person sessions whenever possible, as they tend to be significantly more impactful.
Does my spouse, partner or family have to know?
Coaching is completely confidential and can be done without your family knowing, if that’s your preference. However, addiction often affects not just the individual but the entire family. Involving your spouse, partner, or family as part of your support system can be incredibly valuable for long-term recovery. While it's not required, we encourage open communication when possible to foster healing and strengthen relationships.
Do I have to come to your office?
OnwardWell offers both in-person and remote recovery support. For clients in New Haven and Fairfield County, Connecticut, as well as Westchester and New York City, we typically meet in the field, in their homes, or at our office. For clients outside these areas, we provide secure online sessions to ensure accessible and confidential support, no matter where you are.
